Is CrossFit making me fat?
Over-priced, over-stressed, over-doing it to the point of killing your kidneys, I've heard those criticisms of CrossFit. Fat, though, I haven't heard.
I think doing CrossFit is making me fat.
That's pretty much the opposite of the regimen. I assume, however, you are actually going to the sessions instead of paying for the membership and never going.
I have actually tried the CrossFit sessions.
You'll get fat if you burn a thousand calories a day and reward yourself with a 2000 calorie steak dinner. Intake versus burn rate is going to determine weight loss, regardless of the calories involved.
I know you have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. Aside from water weight.
If you are chronically dehydrated, and the CrossFit people don't even do enough to prevent overuse of muscles that kill your kidneys, a third of the population gets hungry instead of thirsty. You might eat too much instead of drink what you need.
I think I drink enough water.
Try drinking more. You might be killing your diet with too many sports drinks, though, since that has as many calories as a soda.
I can't stand their flavor. I do eat protein bars, though.
Remember not to eat a protein bar and then a full meal, but either or the other. The bar is intended to replace the meal.
I thought you could eat it in place of a snack.
Depends on what you were snacking on. But eating 1000 calories of protein bars in addition to 2000 calories of food will make you fat, unless you do enough CrossFit to burn 3000 calories.
I'm having to rest and recover two or more days from each CrossFit session.
I hope you aren't eating 3000 calories on the days you aren't working out. That'll make you fat faster than CrossFit could burn it off you.
