Spotlight: Thousands in Telangana start the day with Jana Gana Mana - YouTube NewsX Specials

Every morning town of Jammikunta in Karimnagar district, Telangana, comes to a total standstill when the town of 45,000 come together to sing the national anthem before starting their day. This daily ritual was started by Jammikunta town police inspector P Prashanth Reddy from August 16 after, he says, he found out that 90 per cent of the town could not recite the national anthem beyond Jana Gana Mana. This initiative has received a positive response from everybody living in the town. The police inspector says that this will also help in preventing crime.
